Alex's story - employment

17 June 2014

Alex first volunteered for Medway Youth Trust in 2012 and stayed with us for approximately 10 months, as he wanted some experience of working in a business environment to complement his studies in Level 3 Business Studies at Mid Kent College.

Alex is a very able, reliable and hardworking young man who is visually impaired, however he never lets this get in the way.

Alex has recently spent the last year at the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) in Hereford and has achieved so much in his short time there; he recently won the Young Enterprise Journey Award (for the student who showed most progress through Young Enterprise) for the whole of the West Midland region.

Alex is currently seeking employment within the business administration environment and will require only a few adjustments to ensure his visual needs are met and there is help available with these via Access to Work. We are looking for opportunities for him so if you can help please contact Angie Gillett (angela.gillett@themytrust.org).
