NCS Social Action Day 2014

03 April 2014

On Saturday 29th March around 45 young people and 10 MYT staff gave up their Saturday to paint 3 rooms used for Programme delivery at MYT.

The idea behind the NCS Social Action Day is that all young people across England who have previously taken part in NCS all get together to make an impact on their local community.

This was the first NCS Social Action Day ever and MYT staff were delighted to be able to volunteer their time alongside NCS Graduates, current sign-ups and Youth Forum members in order to brighten up some of our rooms and be part of this movement.

The result was absolutely fantastic!  All participants worked extremely hard and with great care to ensure a very professional looking finish.  Young people who access our Programmes such as Prince’s Trust and opt into now have a brighter, fresher and generally more professional looking space to work from and this will have a really positive impact on the general atmosphere, mood and learning that takes place.

Without all the time given from these inspirational young people we would not have been able to achieve this and all participants should be really proud of the difference they have made.

We were delighted to be joined by Martin Sainsbury who heads up the Graduate Strategy within the NCS Trust and who you can see talking in our one minute video.  Huge thanks must also go to Crown Paint, the o2 think big, the Yes I Can 2 team and Rowland’s Bistro for all their support.

Well done and thank you to everyone involved... just shows what can happen when a group of amazing people get together!
