The My Trust became a Duke of Edinburgh Licenced Organisation in April 2016. Over the following year 5 Young People aged 16+ who engaged in MYT activities successfully completed their Bronze award.
2017 Duke of Edinburgh Expedition.
The DofE is an exciting, challenging and inclusive award for all young people regardless of their background or circumstances. The award is a completely personal programme designed by participants. It provides opportunities to acquire or develop new skills and engage in a range of fun activities. Young people participate for a number of reasons. For some it is an enrichment activity, for others it is to help them get into higher education, training or employment.
Employers are increasingly seeking a balance of academic and transferable work ready attributes. There is increasing pressure for young people to demonstrate these at the application stage and talk about them at an interview. In a competitive job market, young people are seeking ways to stand out. DofE is one way that they can evidence that they have the ‘soft skills’ employers are looking for.
The My Trust are hoping to start offering support to young people who would like to do the Bronze award in 2018 and we are currently in the planning stages to make this happen. For more information please contact
