DBS Check Services

The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) was formed in December 2012 following a merger of the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).  The primary role of the DBS is to enable safe recruitment and prevent unsuitable people working with vulnerable groups including children and young people.

MY Trust is an umbrella body for the DBS and can now undertake DBS checks directly for all organisations and individuals requiring the service.

Getting started:

If you are new to using this service, the first step is to set you up as a client. You are required to complete a Client Registration Agreement form and sign a General Governing Principles Code of Practice document before we can process checks. We charge a one-off set up fee.

Set up fees are as follows:

Non Members: £48.00

Once we have you set up we can send you DBS application forms for completion by your volunteers and paid staff. Volunteer checks attract an administration fee only. (MY Trust members are entitled to 3 free checks per year) Paid staff attract a full checking charge and administration fees. Details of all fees or DBS checks are as follows:

(Unpaid)  Volunteer Checks

Non Members: £12.00 Admin fee per check

(Paid) Staff Checks

Non Members: £59.00 per check (including admin fees)

All DBS applicants must also have their ID verified. We provide ID checker training for all clients as this is the most cost effective way of processing applications. We can, however provide ID checking services. The fee structure for ID checks is as follows:
